Park City, Utah

World-Class Skiing, Resorts & More!

Park City is one of the country's most beautiful ski resort towns. Located in the Wasatch Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountain Region, Park City is just 35 minutes east of Salt Lake City International Airport. Its convenient location and breathtaking beauty make it a favorite vacation destination.

Originally a silver mining town, Park City became more recently known as the host of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, as well as the home of one of the film industry's most celebrated and respected events: the Sundance Film Festival. In 2008, Park City was named one of the prettiest towns by Forbes Traveler Magazine. Today, Park City's popularity is recognized around the world.

With an average snowfall of 143 inches in town, Park City really is a winter wonderland. The town's three major ski resorts average 350 inches of snowfall, making it easy to see why skiing and snowboarding are among the most popular pastimes. The ski season is usually scheduled to start in late November, and typically runs through mid-April, giving residents and visitors plenty of time to hit the slopes.

Park City's winter activities aren't limited to downhill skiing and snowboarding. There are so many other ways to enjoy the snowy atmosphere. Some local favorites are: snowmobiling, bobsledding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snow tubing, sleigh rides, and of course, ice skating.

The winters aren't the only beautiful time to visit Park City. The summers are comfortable and pleasant, with an average high temperature of 80 degrees and very low humidity. The summer months are ideal for fishing, horseback riding, hot air balloon rides, camping and rock climbing. The city holds over 40 outdoor concerts during the summer evenings. It's no wonder why outdoor enthusiasts love Park City - from the abundance of trails for cycling, hiking and trail running, to the scenic golf courses - it is the perfect backdrop for any outdoor adventure.

When the time comes to retreat from all of the activities, Park City offers ample ways to relax. There are plenty of luxury spas in this resort town, offering an array of massages and specialized treatments. There are also over 100 restaurants and bars all within walking distance or a short drive of one another, featuring award-winning fare to accommodate any taste or budget. After dinner, experience Park City's nightlife, whether you prefer to dance the night away, listen to live music or refine your palette with some wine tasting, there is something for everyone. Park City also boasts over 20 art galleries and a thriving performing arts community. For those looking for some retail therapy, Park City offers everything from small boutiques to large chains, as well as a large outlet mall featuring 65 manufacturer outlets.

Just one visit to this charming resort town, and it will be easy to see why most of its residents "came for the winters, but stayed because of the summers".
