Nestled in the arms of the Ovens Valley in the North East of the Alpine region, The Bright Resort is sheltered from harsh winter storms and winds. Mind you, the snowfields are only a hop, skip and a jump away. And, best of all, you can pick a different place every day. The snow fields of Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buffalo are an hour away offering outstanding skiing for all levels.
If you would prefer not to drive yourself, there’s a bus to Hotham most days and to Mt Buffalo on weekends. Chains, skis, toboggans and clothing can all be hired or bought from local businesses.

After a hard day’s play, the onsite facilities include a swimming pool, sauna or heated indoor spa to relax away the kinks, and a games room to keep the kids occupied. Play a game of chess in the owner’s lounge or lawn bowls.
Try a round of mini golf, some tennis or basketball and fire up one of the resort’s barbeques. If you’re there in August, you can plan tactics for the annual Mt Hotham to Dinner Plain Cross Country ‘Pub to Pub’ race.
Local walks, golf, bowls, canoeing, tennis, swimming, gold panning, horse riding, skiing and fishing are just some of the activities available in Bright. Within a short distance is boating, water skiing, flying and hang gliding.
Shop in a friendly atmosphere, or dine at one of the numerous restaurants or cafes.
Historic buildings from the days of the gold rush add to Bright’s charm and appeal. Wineries are only an hour away. And, of special note to gourmet travellers, it is home to Simone’s, one of the best restaurants in Victoria.
